Integrated MEP design expertise from concept to completion
At Alden, we provide a complete MEP design service from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 6. With in-house technical specialists across mechanical and public health disciplines, we support our clients with a fully integrated and strategic approach to building services design. Whether we’re working on a new-build or refurbishment project, we focus on delivering designs that are robust, practical and sustainable.
Our team takes time to understand each client’s specific objectives, such as meeting BREEAM targets, working with space constraints, or considering whole-life cost performance, and factors these into the design from day one. With experience across a range of sectors, we’re able to support projects with early-stage technical input, sustainability-led thinking, and the coordination needed to streamline project delivery.
Overheating and energy modelling
Overheating and energy modelling are increasingly critical to meeting client and regulatory requirements, particularly in the education, healthcare and residential sectors. Our design team has access to advanced thermal and energy simulation software to test design options and evaluate performance, identifying cost-effective ways to meet targets and enhance occupant comfort.
We can also carry out renewable technology feasibility studies and support energy strategy planning for new developments. By modelling systems from the outset, we help clients to make informed decisions about long-term running costs, compliance, and carbon performance.

Delivered in-house by experienced design professionals
All mechanical and public health design work is delivered by our in-house design engineers, ensuring full control over quality, coordination and compliance. Many of our team members have been with us for decades, thanks to our structured internal development programme and in-house mentoring scheme, which has helped us to develop apprentices and new hires into highly skilled and passionate engineering professionals.
Our team is experienced in delivering BIM Level 2 projects to COBie standards, with full BIM capabilities including clash detection and cloud-based model sharing to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This enables us to anticipate buildability issues before they reach the site, helping to maintain project timelines and improve installation quality.
