Project overview
The construction of two new buildings providing fifty-four new student ensuite bedrooms, student lounges, student kitchens, porters lodge and flexible office spaces on the fourth floor of each building.
The project required the upgrading of the existing college main boiler room and the integration of a new ground source heat pump system providing heat and chilled water to the new buildings.
Buried pre-insulated heating and chilled water pipework linked the existing boiler room to the new buildings.
With the buildings radiators manifold were installed in two locations on each floor with Rehau pipework run in the screed depth to serve radiators throughout the buildings.
All new bedrooms are ensuite with new domestic hot and cold water and ventilation provided with constant volume dampers providing background ventilation and a boost facility triggered by a PIR in the ensuite.
A new porter lodge and flexible office spaces were also provide served by heating and chilled water fan coil units.
