Project overview

The project provides the Ruskin school of art with a new facility provide workshops, studios, administration areas and an art gallery.

The building was designed with all services exposed requiring a high amount of coordination of all mechanical and electrical services.

The building has been provided with two air handling unis one serving the new exhibition space and one to provide general supply and extract ventilation, all the ductwork is installed using the Kool vent pre-insulated ductwork system.

Heating is provided by gas fired boiler serving radiant panel.

Specialist ventilation systems were provided to the spray booth and Acid/washout rooms.

Administration and media rooms are provided with DX cooling systems.

Fire suppression was provided with the installation of a misting system to the Screen-printing room and workshop.

Domestic hot and cold-water services are provided to the WC areas with hit water being provided by local electric water heaters.
